Chairman Murkowski and Ranking Member Cantwell Announce Upcoming Hearing Schedule

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today announced four hearings that will be held over the next two weeks. The full committee will consider the Department of Energy’s nominee for inspector general, examine the status of advanced nuclear technologies, and conduct oversight of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s 2017-2022 OCS oil and gas leasing program. In addition, the Water and Power Subcommittee will receive testimony on pending legislation.   • Thursday, May 12 at 10 a.m. – Full Committee hearing to consider Susan Beard to be Inspector General at the Department of Energy.
  • Tuesday, May 17 at 10 a.m. – Full Committee hearing to examine the status of advanced nuclear technologies.
  • Tuesday, May 17 at 2 p.m. – Water and Power Subcommittee hearing to receive testimony on the following bills:
    • S. 2524 (Gardner)  – Bolts Ditch Access and Use Act
    • S. 2533 (Feinstein) – California Long-Term Provisions for Water Supply and Short-Term Provisions for Emergency Drought Relief Act
    • S. 2616 (Gardner)  – A bill to modify certain cost-sharing and revenue provisions relating to the Arkansas Valley Conduit, Colorado
    • S. 2902 (Flake) – Western Water Supply and Planning Enhancement Act
    • S. 2907 (Reid) – To amend the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2015, to strike the termination date for funding for pilot projects to increase Colorado River System water in Lake Mead, and for other purposes
  • Thursday, May 19 at 2:30 p.m. – Full Committee hearing to examine the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s 2017-2022 OCS Oil and Gas Leasing Program.

All hearings will be held in Room 366 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C. and webcast live on the committee’s website. Witness testimony will be available online immediately before the start of each hearing.
