The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today released the second installment in its video series highlighting its Republican members. Today, U.S. Sen. James Risch, R-Idaho, underscores his support for a commonsense approach to energy policy that makes good use of the nation’s vast and varied natural resources.

As chairman of the Energy Subcommittee, Sen. Risch is committed to policies that promote clean, reliable and affordable energy for all Americans and to finding collaborative and workable solutions to the challenges of balancing conservation and use.

“The energy policy we pursue as a nation influences our quality of life and how America competes in the global economy,” Sen. Risch said. “Idaho and the rest of America have a rich supply of natural resources. My own home state is owned two-thirds by the federal government – all public lands. I support legislation that protects our environment for future generations, while maintaining private property rights and keeping in mind the needs of local communities and industry.”

Sen. Risch’s full video statement is available on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee website.
