Sen. Murkowski Welcomes Nebraska Approval of Revised Pipeline Route

January 22, 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, today applauded Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman’s approval of the revised route for the Keystone XL pipeline.

“Gov. Heineman’s decision is the right one for Nebraska and the nation,” Murkowski said. “The economy remains Americans’ top concern, and Keystone is exactly the kind of large, privately financed infrastructure project we need to get things moving again.

“The time for delay is over. The president needs to stop blocking the Keystone XL project and allow folks to get to work. It’s time Americans enjoy the jobs and economic benefits that infrastructure projects like Keystone will bring.”

Gov. Heineman on Tuesday signed off on the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality’s assessment of the Keystone XL pipeline revised route through the state.
