Today’s Business Meeting
Committee Reports Five Bills
 
In a mark-up today, Senate Energy Committee reported five bills, all of them regarding energy policy.  Each reported bill was modified with amendments.  The five bills are now eligible for consideration by the full Senate:
 
S. 630   A bill to promote marine and hydrokinetic renewable energy research and development.  Ordered reported, as amended by a Joint Staff amendment and an amendment by Senator Murkowski, by unanimous voice vote.
 
S. 699  A bill to authorize the Secretary of Energy to carry out a program to demonstrate the commercial application of integrated systems for long-term geological storage of carbon dioxide, and for other purposes.  Ordered reported, as amended by amendments by Senators Portman and Barrasso, by voice vote.
 
S. 757  A bill to provide incentives to encourage the development and implementation of technology to capture carbon dioxide from dilute sources on a significant scale using direct air capture technologies.  Ordered reported, as amended by an amendment by Senator Barrasso, by voice vote.
 
S. ___  An original bill to provide for the conduct of an analysis of the impact of energy development and production on the water resources of the United States, and for other purposes.  Ordered reported, as amended by an amendment by Senator Landrieu, by voice vote.
 
S. ___  An original bill to amend the Federal Power Act to protect the bulk-power system and electric infrastructure critical to the defense of the United States against cyber security and other threats and vulnerabilities.  Ordered reported, as amended by a joint staff amendment, by unanimous voice vote.
 
The Committee did not complete action on one other bill.  It will receive further consideration at a future business meeting.
 
S. ___ An original bill to promote the domestic development and deployment of clean energy technologies, and for other purposes.
