On Tuesday, March 29, the full committee will meet to gather information on recent events at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi reactor complex.  Participants include Dr. Peter Lyons, acting assistant secretary, office of nuclear energy, Department of Energy; Bill Borchardt, executive director for operations, Nuclear Regulatory Commission; David Lochbaum, director, Nuclear Power Project; and Anthony R. Pietrangelo, senior vice president and chief nuclear officer, Nuclear Energy Institute.  (Dirksen 366 at 10:00 a.m.)
 
On Wednesday, March 30, the subcommittee on national parks will consider the President’s Fiscal Year 2012 proposed budget for the National Park Service.  Jonathan B. Jarvis, director of the National Park Service, will be the witness.  (Dirksen 366 at 2:30 p.m.)
 
On Thursday, March 31, the full committee will consider several bills related to hydropower, including S. 629, S. 630, and Title I, Subtitle D of the American Clean Energy Leadership Act of 2009.  The witness list will be posted to our website.  (Dirksen 366 at 9:30 a.m.)

CES.  Chairman Bingaman and Ranking Republican Murkowski this week released a white paper soliciting input on a Clean Energy Standard.  It is publicly available on our website, and anyone interested can submit responses, per the instructions.
