January 5, 2017
Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow, Ranking Member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) will join Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz for the rollout of the second installment of the Quadrennial Energy Review (QER). The final report, which follows a series of public meetings to discuss and received comments, is a comprehensive review of the nation’s electricity system from generation to end use.

The administration was directed to complete a QER in a January 2014 Presidential Memorandum in response to a 2011 recommendation from the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. The first installment of the QER, “Energy Transmission, Storage, and Distribution Infrastructure,” was released in April 2015.

The event is open to press; to attend, please RSVP to DOENews@hq.doe.gov or watch the event via livestream here.
