u  On Tuesday, May 3, the full committee will receive testimony on the proposal for a Clean Energy Deployment Administration as contained in Title I, Subtitle A of the American Clean Energy Leadership Act of 2009 (S. 1462 of the 111th Congress).  A summary description of that legislative proposal can be found here.  Witnesses will include Jonathan Silver, executive director of the Loan Guarantee Program, U.S. Department of Energy; Dan Reicher, executive director, Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance, Stanford University, Palo Alto; Kassia Yanosek, founding principal, Tana Energy Capital LLC, New York City; and Christopher Guith, vice president for policy for the Institute for 21st Century Energy, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Washington.  (Dirksen 366 at 10 a.m.)
 
u  On Thursday, May 5, the full committee will receive testimony on a joint staff discussion draft pertaining to cyber security of the bulk-power system and electric infrastructure.  Witnesses will be posted to our website.  (Dirksen 366 at 9:30 a.m.)

Did you see the article in Foreign Policy that listed Hill staffers to watch this year?  The article, found here, describes the 2011 Spring Congressional Fellowship Program at the Partnership for a Secure America (PSA), a centrist, security-minded policy organization here in Washington.  The program aims “to  build a ‘next generation' of foreign affairs and national security experts equipped to respect differences, build common ground and achieve U.S. national interests," PSA explains.  With increased focus on energy security in the news these days, we’re proud to note that one of our own, Senior Professional Staff Member Jonathan Black, made the list.
