Because of the energy bill …

New Federal rules are now in place for the establishment of an Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) that will develop and enforce mandatory reliability standards for the nation’s electric transmission grid.  This will ensure consumers a reliable supply of electricity and will help prevent major power blackouts such as the one experienced in August 2003 that was due in large part to voluntary and unenforceable reliability standards.
