Washington, D.C. – The Subcommittees on National Parks and Water & Power will each be conducting one hearing. The Subcommittee for Water & Power will hold a joint hearing with the Committee on Indian Affairs to receive testimony on one bill on Tuesday, September 30, at 10:00 a.m. in SD-366. The bill is: S. 437, the Arizona Water Settlements Acts, which is a bill to provide for adjustments to the Central Arizona Project in Arizona, to authorize the Gila River Indian Community water rights settlement, and to re-authorize and amend the Southern Arizona Water Rights Settlement Act of 1982. The Subcommittee on National Parks will hold a hearing to receive testimony on four bills on Thursday, October 2, at 10:00 a.m. in SD-366. The four bills are: S. 524, a bill to expand the boundaries of the Fort Donelson National Battlefield to authorize the acquisition and interpretation of lands associated with the campaign that resulted in the capture of the fort in 1862. S. 1313, a bill to establish the Congaree Swamp National Park in the State of South Carolina. S. 1472, a bill to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to provide for the construction of a statue of Harry S. Truman at Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri.
