Washington, D.C. - The Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee will hold three full committee hearings and one business meeting next week.

 

The Full Committee will hold a hearing on Tuesday, October 18 at 10:00 a.m. in room SD-366 to discuss the winter fuels outlook and the effect of high prices this coming winter.

The Committee will hear testimony describing the results of a recently released National Academy of Sciences report on this same topic.

The Full Committee will hold a Business Meeting on Wednesday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m. in room SD-366 to consider the following items on the agenda:

 

Reconciliation legislation to be submitted in accordance with the reconciliation instructions contained in the budget resolution for 2006.

 

The Full Committee will hold a hearing on Thursday, October 20 2:30 p.m. in room SD-366 to receive testimony on S. 1016, to direct the Secretary of Energy to make incentive payments to the owners or operators of qualified desalination facilities to partially offset the cost of electrical energy required to operate the facilities; and S. 1860, to amend the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to improve energy production and reduce energy demand through improved use of reclaimed waters.
