Senate Energy Committee Advances FERC Nominee Colette Honorable

December 11, 2014

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, today voted to advance the nomination of Colette Honorable to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

A majority of the members of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee gathered this morning off the Senate floor to approve by voice vote moving Honorable’s nomination out of committee.

Murkowski, the top Republican on the energy committee, told Honorable at a hearing last week that she needed to champion FERC’s role as the federal agency responsible for electric reliability.

Murkowski in February released a white paper on grid reliability, entitled Powering The Future: Ensuring That Federal Policy Fully Supports Electric Reliability, which is available here.
