Committee Reports One Nomination, Four Bills

In a brief mark-up, Senate Energy today reported the nomination of Arunava Majumdar to be under secretary of energy.  The appointment cleared unanimously on a voice vote.

Senate Energy also approved four energy bills.  These bills, all bipartisan, are now eligible for consideration in the full Senate:

S. 1108          10 Million Solar Roofs Act, as amended. 

S. 1142          Geothermal Exploration and Technology Act, as amended.

S. 1149          Geothermal Production Expansion Act, as amended. 

S. 1160          Department of Energy Administrative Improvement Act, as amended.

Today was the committee’s sixth business meeting of the year.   To date, Senate Energy has reported 65 bills – dozens more than most other committees.
