Cantwell: Both Sides Should Work to Resolve the Remaining Issues on the Energy Bill

Statement After Cloture Votes on Bipartisan Energy Bill

February 4, 2016

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), ranking member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, issued the following statement following the cloture votes on the bipartisan energy bill:

“Now that it’s clear there are not 60 votes to end debate on the energy bill, both sides should work to resolve the remaining issues‎ that will get us to final passage. We are confident we can work out the remaining issues through good-faith negotiations, including a solution for the water crisis in Flint.”
