  • On Tuesday, May 13, the full committee will examine the impacts of climate change on the reliability, security, economics and design of critical energy infrastructure in coastal regions.  Witnesses will include Virginia Burkett, chief scientist of the global change programs, United States Geological Survey, U.S. Department of the Interior; Thomas Wilbanks, corporate research fellow and leader, Oak Ridge National Laboratory , Oak Ridge, TN; Ted Falgout, executive director, Port Fourchon, Galliano, LA; Lisa Polak Edgar, commissioner, Florida Public Service Commission, Tallahassee; Charles Drevna, president, National Petrochemical & Refiners Association; Terry Wallace, principal associate director for science, technology and engineering, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, NM.  (Dirksen 366 at 10:00 a.m.)

  • On Thursday, May 15, the full committee will consider testimony on the development of oil shale resources.  Witnesses will include  C. Stephen Allred, assistant secretary, Land and Minerals Management, U.S. Department of the Interior; Gov. Bill Ritter, governor, State of Colorado; Terry O'Connor, vice president, External & Regulatory Affairs, Shell Exploration & Production, Denver, CO; Steve Smith, assistant regional director, The Wilderness Society, Denver; and Jim Hansen, representing Oil Shale Exploration Co., Farmington, UT.  (Dirksen 366 at 2:30 p.m.)
