Ø     On Tuesday, Jan. 30, the full Committee will examine Federal efforts to contain the costs of wildfire suppression activities.  There are eight witness: Nina Hatfield, Department of the Interior; Mark Rey, Department of Agriculture; Phyllis K. Fong, Inspector General, Department of Agriculture;  Robin Nazzaro, Government Accountability Office; James Caswell, Wildland Fire Leadership Council; Dr. Bruce McDowell, National Academy of Public Administration; and Kirk Rowdabaugh, Arizona State Forester.   Dirksen 366, 10:00 a.m.
 
Ø     On Tuesday, Jan. 30, the full Committee will hear testimony on transportation sector fuel economy, including challenges to and incentives for increased oil savings.  There are six witnesses: Beth Lowery, General Motors; William Logue, FedEx; John German, American Honda Motor Co.; Dr. Walter McManus, University of Michigan; Dr. Menahem Anderman, Advanced Automotive Batteries; and Dr. David Greene, Oak Ridge National Laboratory.   Dirksen 366, 2:30 p.m.
 
Ø     On Wednesday, Jan. 31, the full Committee will mark up 22 bills at a Business Meeting.  A list of the bills to be considered will be posted on the Committee website next week.   Dirksen 366, 11:30 a.m.
 
Ø     On Thursday, Feb. 1, is the all-day Transportation Biofuels Conference, where the full Committee will examine how home-grown, biologically derived fuels can best be utilized into our nation’s transportation fuel mix.  Some 33 panelists (LINK) have been invited to present as part of six different panels.   Dirksen G-50, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
