On Wednesday, July 14, a Subcommittee on Water and Power hearing will examine the Federal response to the discovery of the invasive Asian carp in a waterway connecting the Mississippi River to Lake Michigan.  Witnesses will include Nancy Sutley, chair, White House Council on Environmental Quality; Dr. Leon Carl, director, Great Lakes Science Center, U.S. Geological Survey, Ann Arbor, MI; John Rogner, assistant director, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Springfield; and Tim Eder, executive director, Great Lakes Commission, Ann Arbor.  (Dirksen 366, 3:30 p.m.)
 
On Thursday, July 15, the full committee will have a business meeting (a mark-up) to consider legislation related to vehicle technologies, solar, nuclear energy and energy research.  As a reminder, Senate Energy Committee mark-ups are open to the public and the press but are not webcast.
