July 27, 2020

Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), Ranking Member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, released the following statement after President Trump announced his intent to nominate Allison Clements and Mark Christie to fill two vacancies on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

"In a political climate that is often paralyzed by partisanship, a bipartisan FERC is more essential than ever. I thank the President and the White House for nominating both a Democrat and Republican today because it is an important step towards restoring a fully seated Commission. As Ranking Member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, I look forward to reviewing the qualifications of both Allison Clements and Mark Christie when they come before the Committee."
