  • On Tuesday, Aug. 7, the full committee will hold a field hearing on “Reducing Barriers to Growth of Emerging Energy Technologies – Relationships between Federal, State and Local Governments.” Witnesses include Martin Chavez, mayor of Albuquerque; Doug Smith, president, Nanopore; Russell Schmit, founder/president/chief executive officer, Advent Solar; Dr. Jerry Simmons, program manager, Sandia National Laboratories; and Dr. Hong Hou, president/chief operating officer, EMCORE Corp.   • On Tuesday, Aug. 14, the full committee will hold a field hearing on the Bureau of Reclamation’s implementation of the Rural Water Supply Act of 2006, and federal, state, and local efforts to plan and develop the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water Supply Project.  Witnesses include a representative from U.S. Bureau of Reclamation; David Lansford, mayor of Clovis, NM; John D’Antonio, state engineer, State of New Mexico; and Darrel Bostwick, chairman, Ute Water Commission.
