Today the House Appropriations Committee went on record in support of addressing global warming through a mandatory cap on U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, as long as the program does not harm the U.S. economy. The amendment also requires participation from international trading partners.

Chairman Domenici’s and Ranking Member Bingaman’s joint statement:

"The bipartisan decision of the House Appropriations Committee to adopt a resolution on global warming that is identical to the Sense of the Senate resolution passed last year is an important indicator of the growing interest in Congress to responsibly address global warming."
