The federal oil and gas permitting process has been streamlined in select offices of Bureau of Land Management. A recent study conducted by Advanced Resources International, Inc. indicates this program will have significant potential benefits to the nation over the next five years, including:
· Increases in production of natural gas of up to 1 trillion cubic feet per year,
· Significant economic value of over $20 billion in royalties, and
· Increases in jobs, peaking at slightly over 14,000 per year.
