On Tuesday, June 19, the full committee will receive testimony on the potential for induced seismicity from energy technologies, including carbon capture and storage, enhanced geothermal systems, production from gas shales, and enhanced oil recovery.  Witnesses include Dr. Murray Hitzman, professor of economic geology, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO; Dr. William Leith, senior science advisor for earthquake and geologic hazards, U.S. Geological Survey, Reston, VA; Susan Petty, president and chief technology officer, Altarock Energy, Inc., Seattle; and Dr. Mark Zoback, professor in the Department of Geophysics, Stanford University, Stanford, CA.  (Dirksen 366 at 10:00 a.m.)
