WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, today commented on the nomination of Mike Connor to be Deputy Secretary at the U.S. Department of the Interior:

“Mike Connor is well known to the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. In his current position as Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation, he has worked relentlessly to ensure that water supplies in many of our western states are reliable, safe and secure,” Murkowski said. “Prior to this position, he served for 8 years as counsel to our committee, where I first became acquainted with him. I believe his integrity, work ethic and his ability to solve tough resource related issues will make him an asset to the Secretary.

Murkowski is the senior senator for Alaska and the ranking Republican on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
